On March 31, 2021, Google released Google Chrome 89. This release of Google Chrome has introduced a bug with Web GIS applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.30 or earlier. Web GIS users encounter trouble with single-click viewer interactions like popups for map tips, identify, and other functionality. Esri created BUG-000138684 and recommends upgrading any Web GIS applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.30 or earlier to 3.31 or above.
This bug may affect any Web GIS applications created before August 2020 (the release date of ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.30) that have not been upgraded since their release. We highly recommend reviewing these applications to ensure that they are not affected. A quick list of affected applications, with links to where to download the latest versions, are:
ArcGIS Enterprise using Portal for ArcGIS
If you start getting user complaints about Map Tips or Identify not working when using Google Chrome, you may be affected. You will most likely need to check to ensure your Web GIS applications are not using ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.30 or lower.
Until your Web GIS applications are upgraded, we recommend asking your users to use an alternative web browser.
