Geocortex Time Slider Component JavaScript Library

Denver, CO USA – 2016-04-21 – The Digital Data Services, Inc. (DDS) team is pleased to announce the release of Geocortex Time Slider component. This free JavaScript library that adds the ability to embed a 'Time Slider' widget within your Geocortex Viewer for HTML5.

The Time Slider widget enables you to view temporal layers in a Map and to see how the layer data changes over time. Using this widget, you can play or pause the temporal animation of the data, go to a previous time period, or advance to the next time period.

A demo video is available at https://youtu.be/ICR6NzpmtFI. For more information and to download the JavaScript Library, please visit: https://github.com/DigitalDataServices/GeocortexTimeSlider.

In additional to the standard functionality provided by similar Esri or Silverlight-based widgets, the Digital Data Services Time Slider widget for the HTML5 Viewer also allows you to:

  • Drag and place the widget anywhere on the map
  • Horizontally resize the widget - expanding or compacting the Time Slider view in real-time
  • Temporarily close and reopen the widget - giving you the ability to hide the Time Slider when it is not actively being used
  • Statically or dynamically configure the temporal boundaries (year range) to adjust to changing time-aware Layer content
  • Automatically persist the widget's properties and settings (such as its position, visibility, and temporal range) - so that your Time Slider preferences are retained when a Geocortex session is closed and reopened

The request for web-based map applications has increased dramatically over the past five years. Companies realize the importance of accessing and leveraging geospatial information. The barrier has been how to develop a cost-effective and easy-to-maintain web map application that is suitable for technical, managerial, and executive users. Latitude Geographics’ Geocortex Essentials is the most effective way to jumpstart web-based map applications. Geocortex is a commercial off-the-shelf application framework with an extensive library of prewritten code, which saves months or even years of development time. As an authorized Geocortex Implementation Solution Provider, DDS has been providing custom Geocortex solutions to our clients since 2011. We work closely with our customers to identify their needs and requirements, and implement solutions designed to what is important to their organizational goals. We can develop Geocortex applications entirely within a client’s internal infrastructure, or develop applications on our server and later migrate it to the client site. Geocortex Meetup Group

Colorado Geocortex MeetUp Group- Thursday, June 26th, 6:00 PM

Galvanize: 1062 Delaware Street, Denver, CO

Digital Data Services hosted the inaugural Colorado Geocortex User Group Meeting on June 26th.

The meeting began with Scott Carter introducing himself and the history of his company, Digital Data Services.  He then explained why Digital Data Services chose Geocortex technologies for the implementation of their web-based mapping solutions.

Following Scott's introduction, the attendees, or "Geocortex Enthusiasts" introduced themselves and gave a brief description on how they were implementing Geocortex Essentials within their organization.

The first presentation of the night was given by Scott Stafford-Veale of Latitude Geographics. Scott went over the key points covered in the Geocortex User Conference, which was a two day webinar event for Geocortex Users.  He then followed that by giving the "Enthusiasts" a sample of the technologies that the Latitude Geographics development team was working on for future releases.

Tom Neer from Digital Data Services gave a presentation on how to install Geocortex on a secured site.  Mr. Neer also mentioned that he was posting a 15 video series to be shown on Digital Data Service's YouTube channel that covered the secured site installation.  The videos are scheduled to be released in July.

The meeting was adjourned and a good portion of the Enthusiasts went to Domos a Japanese restaurant, in downtown Denver.
